I run a girl's fastpitch organization of 8 teams from 10U - 16U. We are using this product indoors and it is great for pitching grounders throwing and hitting.
I have since purchased SOFTIE balls for a little less money and my pitchers said that they prefer the Diamond DFX.
Note that Diamond also has a synthetic brand as well. It is a little cheaper but it's cover does not feel as much like leather. I think you could do a mix of the two and let the pitchers use the DFX brand.More detail ...
